Contribute to the scientific foundation of the NORMATYS standards

The Biodiversity Standard Council brings together the main families of stakeholders in a real estate or development project, in three colleges with equal voting rights, to define, validate and develop the scientific content of the Effinature certification standards.

The Biodiversity Standard Council is the scheme committee of NORMATYS, owner of the Effinature, BPS and CBCA standards. IRICE runs it on its behalf : calls for applications, review of files, management of mandates. Decisions on the content of the standards rest with NORMATYS ; IRICE assesses and decides on certification. NORMATYS and IRICE are two separate companies within the NORMAXIS group.

What a member does

A BSC member contributes to scientific and methodological thinking: they take part in defining the requirements, guarantee their scientific foundation and give an opinion on how they should evolve. This contribution is made in a personal and independent capacity, on the basis of expertise.

In practice, each member responds to formal consultations on revisions and validations of the standards, including where their contribution consists in confirming that they have no comment. Membership rests on active and traceable participation.

Project assessment and certification decisions, for their part, rest exclusively with the competent bodies of IRICE. That separation is what guarantees the independence of the certification process.

Three colleges, equal voting rights

The colleges vote with equal weight: no single family of interests can steer the standards on its own.

College C1

Maîtres d'ouvrage

Developers, social housing providers, urban planners and local authorities who carry the projects.

College C2

Experts

Ecologists, scientists and client-side advisers who bring the expertise.

College C3

Concepteurs

Architects, urban designers and landscape architects who design the projects.

What is expected

A member's mandate runs for three years, renewable by explicit decision. It assumes availability for consultations and compliance with the charter of commitment covering ethics, impartiality, confidentiality and contribution.

Each member declares their interests (positions, mandates or participation in a committee, standard, label or comparable scheme), which allows a structured analysis of impartiality risks.

Read the members' charter of commitment (French).

How to become a member
