Devenir Biodiversity Partner
La qualification qui vous permet d'accompagner des opérations vers la certification Effinature, et qui inscrit votre nom à un annuaire public.
14 heures sur 2 jours · Prerequisites apply · 1 510 € HT · On site or virtual classroom · Catalogue reference ENV76P
In brief
The course "Becoming a Biodiversity Partner" lasts 14 hours over 2 days.
The course "Becoming a Biodiversity Partner" costs 1 510 € excluding tax and carries the catalogue reference ENV76P.
It covers the Effinature New Constructions and Evolution standards, at design stage and during construction.
It closes with a multiple-choice test with a 70 % pass mark, and two resits are available within 30 days at no further charge.
It leads to a certificate valid for three years and to listing in the public directory of Biodiversity Partners.
It is intended for client-side advisers, architects, design offices, ecologists and biodiversity officers.
Without initial training in ecology, biology or environmental science, the introductory course is a prerequisite.
The next session runs on 29 and 30 September 2026 as a virtual classroom.
Who this training is for
What the qualification actually certifies
It certifies that its holder has been assessed on two specific standards and is authorised to guide projects towards certification under them. It is named, dated, valid for three years, and published in a directory anyone can consult.
It does not certify general ecological competence, and it is not a licence to practise. In France the title of ecologist is unprotected and no person-certification scheme exists for it, which is precisely the gap a named, verifiable and time-limited qualification addresses — within its own scope, and no further.
You want to work on Effinature-certified projects.
This is the route in. Without the Biodiversity Partner qualification you cannot hold that role.
You need competence that a client can verify.
A publicly listed qualification is checked in one click, unlike a line on a curriculum vitae. Since August 2026, every French public contract must include an environmental award criterion, and technical merit is judged on evidence.
You are an ecologist moving into the built environment.
Your initial training prepared you for natural habitats. The course "Becoming a Biodiversity Partner" covers biodiversity as applied to buildings and to property development.
Detailed programme
Day 1 — Structuring the assignment and mastering the standards
IRICE and the history of Effinature. The Biodiversity Partner role and the certification framework: process stages, integration into the project team, articulation with the ecologist and with IRICE, selection, qualification and surveillance procedures. The New Constructions and Evolution standards at design stage: structure, themes covering soil, flora, fauna, impacts, user wellbeing and team competence, mandatory and contextual criteria, evidence expected, Effinature indices. Producing auditable evidence: verifiability, enforceability, shared responsibility. Workshop on compiling a file for a fictitious case.
Day 2 — Reviewing deliverables and carrying the approach
The standards during construction: site issues, awareness raising, evidence collection, ecological assessment. Content and submission of files to IRICE, expected formats, the submission platform. Workshop reviewing deliverables before submission. Making the case for the assignment to clients, with real examples. Certified projects in new build and refurbishment. The Biodiversity Partner code of conduct.
Who designs this training
Effinature has been operated by IRICE since 2009. The public register lists 63 operations, of which 62 are certified.
The content of the course "Becoming a Biodiversity Partner" is designed and delivered by the IRICE specialists who assess the files and audit the projects.
QUALITEL Formation, which handles registration and issues the certificate of attendance, is Qualiopi-certified by QUALIBAT, under number FP 2021/0027-5, valid until 29 mars 2027. In 2025, QUALITEL Formation trained 1 623 people, with a satisfaction score of 4,3 sur 5 and a recommendation score of 4,4 sur 5 (données 2025, périmètre global QUALITEL Formation).
What this training does not replace
The course "Becoming a Biodiversity Partner" does not award a degree in ecology and does not replace initial training in the discipline.
It carries no approval from any third-party body, and no equivalence with any professional status awarded outside France. It qualifies for a defined role, within a defined scheme, and says so.
It assumes an entry level. Eligibility criteria are provided on request, and the introductory course is mandatory for anyone without initial training in ecology, biology or environmental science.
We claim no approval from third-party networks or bodies. What we publish are their own texts, with their source and date, alongside our programmes. The decision belongs to them, and we give you what you need to ask them.
Have your training funded
The training "Devenir Biodiversity Partner" is eligible for funding by your skills operator, because it is delivered with QUALITEL Formation, a Qualiopi-certified body.
- You pre-register.
- IRICE checks your prerequisites and passes the file on.
- QUALITEL Formation issues the quotation and the agreement.
- Your company files the funding request with its operator, before the training starts.
Depending on your collective agreement, this is most often Atlas for design offices, engineering and architecture practices, Constructys for construction companies, and Uniformation for social housing. Local authority staff come under the CNFPT.
Constructys requires a complete file at least fifteen days before the training starts, and does not process late files.

Getting your registration approved
In most cases the company decides and pays. Here is what makes the request easy to accept.
What it unlocks
A competence that can be evidenced in a technical submission, at the moment the environmental criterion becomes mandatory in every public contract.
What it secures
A team that knows what to ask an ecologist, what evidence it must produce, and at which stage of the project.
What it actually costs
1 510 € HT, 14 heures sur 2 jours away from the office, and possible funding by the skills operator.
Message template
Subject: training request, biodiversity and construction projects Hello, I would like to attend the training "Devenir Biodiversity Partner", 14 heures sur 2 jours, at 1 510 € HT. Since 22 August 2026, every public contract must include an environmental award criterion. We will have to evidence a biodiversity competence in our technical submissions, and we have nothing to produce on that point today. The training is delivered with QUALITEL Formation, a Qualiopi-certified body, so it is eligible for funding by our skills operator. The reference to quote on the file is ENV76P. One scheduling constraint: the file must be submitted before the training starts, and at least fifteen days in advance for some operators. I am available to discuss it.
